01. Operator and scope
This policy covers the HangulBeat: Korean Words app and this privacy website. The app developer operates HangulBeat and handles privacy enquiries at debateit23@gmail.com.
02. Information stored on your device
The app stores your learning progress, completed lessons, word review records, streaks, hearts, language and display preferences, and your purchase status in app storage on your device. It offers no registration or login, does not upload your learning data to an operator server, and has no cloud sync. It does not use Firebase Authentication, Analytics or Crashlytics. Word and lesson audio is generated on your device by the text-to-speech engine installed on your phone.
03. Microphone and speech recognition
The pronunciation practice feature asks for microphone and speech recognition permission only when you use it. Speech is recognized by the speech service built into your operating system (Android speech recognition or Apple Speech). Depending on your device and settings, that service may send audio to Google or Apple to produce the text, under their privacy policies. HangulBeat does not record, save or upload your voice to the operator, and keeps only the recognized text on screen during the session. You can decline or revoke the permission in device settings and still use the rest of the app.
04. Advertising
This app shows no ads and contains no advertising SDK, so it does not request or use an advertising identifier and has no ad consent or tracking prompt. Your learning records are not used for advertising. No separate usage analytics service is connected.
05. Purchases
Unlocking PRO (unlimited hearts and every chapter) is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play or the App Store, not a subscription. The store processes payment and the operator does not receive your card details. Purchase status is stored on your device and can be restored after reinstalling or on a new device with Restore purchase.
06. Email enquiries and website hosting
When you email debateit23@gmail.com, your address, message and any attachments you provide are used to answer you and resolve issues, kept only as long as needed, subject to legal retention duties. This information page is served by Google Firebase Hosting, which processes connection information such as IP addresses to deliver content and prevent abuse and retains it for a few months. We added no analytics, ads, tracking cookies or external web fonts to this page. Processing may take place outside your country. Details: Firebase Privacy and Security / Google Privacy Policy.
07. Your choices and rights
You can erase local learning data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it; the operator cannot remotely view or delete data held only on your device. You can manage microphone permission in device settings. To ask about privacy or exercise applicable access, correction or deletion rights for information you sent us, contact debateit23@gmail.com. Where applicable, you may complain to your data protection authority.
08. Children and changes
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information; contact us if you believe a child has supplied some. We will update this page and its date when features or data processing change, and explain material changes before release.
